Rules of IfYouLove.net

IfYouLove.net is designed specifically for quality of results. It's goal is to help the user learn more about their preferences, and diversify tastes. That being said, it is important for all users, admins included, to abide by all these rules to ensure the quality of content, and the integrity of the site.

No Spamming
Spamming, on this site, entails the following:

a) Making a number of links and pairings purely to increase the visibility of an item. Methods are in place to keep track of this, so beware. Breaking this rule will result in a deletion of the item, and a banning.

b) Placing references to an item in numerous places where it is unwarranted.

c) Anywhere the administrators (within reason) feel there is excessive spamming and is detrimental to the content and integiry of this site. Admins will ensure fairness among all groups and items whether or not they like a particular genre. Logs are kept of administrator changes, and any changes made by an admin that hurts the integrity of this site will lose all admin privilages.

A special note to musicians: Rely on the quality of your work, not the number of links you create on this site. Create links only with those that you are specifically similar to in sound, not the ones you are inspired by, like, enjoy, have heard once before in passing, etc.

No Offensive Content/Slamming
It is understandable that people are passionate about their tastes. That being said slamming a certain musician for their genre, a certain book for its content, a movie for it's actors is not productive. If you don't like a particular musician, movie, etc. avoid it. Divert your eyes, turn off your monitor, quickly press the back button. If you want to to voice your opinion about a certain item, get a blog. IfYouLove.net is not to be used as a platform for slander.

No Copyright Infringements
Do not post content that is illegal, unlawful, or infringes on any copyrights. Admins will do their best to remove any copyrights, however users are strictly asked to avoid plagarism.

Use IfYouLove.net For What It's Meant
IfYouLove.net is meant to provide everyone and anyone with reliable sources. The site was created in trust. Trust in the users that they will abide by the rules, and help to build the integrity of IfYouLove. Therefor the descriptions are completely editable by anyone. Anyone can add an item. Anyone can create a linking. Anyone can rate. The website is a free to use, not-for-profit service, and it is created with the hope to bridge gaps across genres, across nations, to allow for more diverse tastes.
